Entrance to the conference throughout its duration will be via Jay Mews, located on the opposite side of the building from the Royal College of Art’s main entrance facing the Royal Albert Hall.

Accommodation During the Conference

For conference attendees arriving from abroad or outside London, or those who wish to stay in the vicinity of the conference venue in South Kensington, it is possible to book a room via the Imperial College Accommodation Service. Two options are available.

Option One: Imperial College Halls of Residence 

The Imperial College Halls of Residence are located in the historic Beit Hall, directly adjacent to the Royal College of Art in Prince Consort Road, and also in the more modern building in Prince’s Gardens, a five minute walk away. The price for this accommodation includes rooms with ensuite bathroom facilities (sometimes shared in the case of Beit Hall), full English or Continental-style breakfast plus use of the Imperial College’s extensive sports facilities. Wifi Internet access is also available for an additional charge. Option Two: Book a Hotel via Imperial College Accommodation Service

Through the Imperial College Accommodation Service it is also possible to book hotel accommodation in the vicinity of South Kensington. All hotels are a short walk away from the Royal College of Art in Kensington Gore. Transport Advice

All participants and visitors are strongly advised to make use of public transport since car parking options in the vicinity of the college are extremely limited.  To arrive at the Royal College of Art (RCA) by public transport the following options are available:

London Underground:

The RCA is a 10-15 minute walk from either of the following Underground stations:

South Kensington (Piccadilly, District and Circle Lines)

Gloucester Road (Piccadilly, District and Circle Lines)

High Street Kensington (District and Circle Lines)

Bus:

Buses 9, 10, 52, 70, 360, 452 all stop either directly outside or within the vicinity of the RCA on Kensington Gore

TFL Cycle Hire Scheme:

The nearest docking stations to the RCA for the TFL Cycle Hire Scheme are located on Kensington Gore, Prince Consort Road and Queens Gate

Domestic Trains:

Paddington and Victoria are the nearest domestic mainline train stations to the RCA. From both these stations take the District or Circle line to High Street Kensington (from Paddington) or South Kensington (from Victoria).

International Trains:

All Eurostar services from Brussels, Lille and Paris arrive at King’s Cross/St. Pancras International Station. From there take the Piccadilly line to South Kensington.

Long-haul intercontinental and short-haul European flights arrive at:

London Heathrow Airport

To reach the RCA take the Piccadilly line to Gloucester Road or South Kensington. Alternatively, take the Heathrow Express Train to Paddington; then change to take the District or Circle line to High Street Kensington.

Take the DLR to Canning Town; then change to take the Jubilee Line to Westminster.  Change again at Westminster to take the District or Circle Line to South Kensington.

Take the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street Station. Then take the Central Line to Notting Hill Gate; change again for the District or Circle Line to High Street Kensington. Alternatively, take the EasyBus, National Express or Terravision coach services which have various ‘drop-off’ points in central London.

London Luton Airport

Take the shuttle bus from the airport terminal to Luton Airport Parkway Station. From there take the train to London St. Pancras International Station; then change to the Piccadilly Line to South Kensington. Alternatively take the Greenline 757, EasyBus or National Express coach services which have various ‘drop-off’ points in central London.
